Hello
Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer help.
I’d like to start off by saying that I have been checked by multiple doctors and I’m sure that I don’t have anything life threatening.
I’m trying to find out if the symptoms I have been experiencing could be caused by a psychological condition. I have a suspicion that they are and would like to see if anyone has experienced something similar. I think it could help to hear from someone else.
The problems I’m experiencing have been going on for the passed month. I have ringing in the ears, tremors in my hands, balance issues, and trouble thinking. By far the most concerning to me is the trouble with my thinking. I can concentrate but I seem to have issues processing certain pieces of information. For example, proverbial phrases and jokes seem to trigger this problem the most. The most recent example was: “when life closes one door, another one opens, or you could just open the door again because that’s how doors work.”A buddy of mine told me this recently and for some reason I had a really difficult time understanding the connection. This problem is a common problem I face every day since my symptoms have started and is totally not normal. Usually things just “click” but not as of recently. Watching TV and doing homework has become more difficult because of this issue. My memory is also terrible. I can read a sentence and forget what I had just read literally right after finishing.
I’d like to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this before? I have been dealing with this for about a month now and my symptoms never go away. The bad thing about it is that even when I am distracted, theses symptoms persist. I could be completely enveloped in something and come across a phrase or piece of information that for some reason just will not click. There was a point when the tinnitus was so loud that I was having trouble falling a sleep. These symptoms stated when I was dealing with a lot of stress but I haven’t been stressed since. Does it sound like what I am experiencing could be caused by a psychological condition like anxiety, depression, or maybe just residue stress?

Sorry for the long post. I tried to keep it short

I struggle with some of the same things when my anxiety is out of control which has been a lot lately. I don't have the ringing in my ears. You may have answered this question in your post but have you seen a Dr. If not since it has been going on for about a month I would make an appointment.

I have seen two doctors but they didn't seem to be to concerned. I was told that its possible that I had some inflammation in the inner ear. I have an appointment in about 3 months to see my primary care physician again for a physical. I plan to bring this up again with him it this continues. Does anxiety usually last for weeks at a time or is it something that comes and goes frequently?
Also, thanks for replying

I'll be seeing my primary physician in about three months and if these symptoms are still present, I'll ask what he thinks about seeing a neurologist. I had a romberg's test done when I went to an urgent care clinic when I saw the first doctor. She said that everything was fine neurologically and told me to follow up with my primary doctor. When I did, he didn't really seem to be too concerned. This is one of the reasons that I thought it might be psychological. I figured he probably saw something that hinted towards anxiety or something because he didn't even run any blood or urine tests. I've recently become a bit concerned as my symptoms are still persistent. I take it that this sounds more like a neurological issue to you rather than psychological?
I'm just looking to possibly calm my nerves. This is beginning to worry me. I'm considering calling up my doctor to see if I can see him again before my scheduled appointment.

Thank you for replying!
