Hello everyone,
I'm just curious about something. If you disagree with your diagnosis does it really matter? I'm finding that I disagree with one of my diagnoses, but I'm not sure that it really matters as long as I'm getting appropriate treatment. Should I bother mentioning this to my care team (not sure they would agree), or should I just keep it to myself and plod on? |

If it matters to you it matters. Just know though that just because yiu dont like a diagnosis doesnt mean its wrong (if that is the case)
But its worth discussing I think anyways |

Thank you for the feedback. Yes, it does really matter to me. I do believe that the one diagnosis I have is wrong, but I'm not planning any major changes. I'm just very happy that I finally realize that my other diagnosis truly fits, and I am finally finding a treatment that I think is truly helpful.

I think it's definitely worth discussing with your Team, @cptsdwhoa. At the very least you'll be able to clarify some things and any doubts you may have. So yes, definitely talk it through with them. Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH You and Them!

Yes it matters. Ultimately you know you best. You can always go to another psychiatrist for a second opinion or discuss with your current psychiatrist your concerns. I was originally misdiagnosed as OCD by a psychologist. My next psychiatrist agreed with me that it was a misdiagnosis.
