Do you think there is any hope for the human future? From climate change, to the rise of potentially authoritarian governments it triggers my anxiety to think about it.

I think there is hope, yes. I think all these negativities the human race has heaped upon itself, down through the ages, all these great sufferings, will reach a critical mass. And from there, a spiritual awakening of sorts, an awakening of the conscience if you will, in a very real and concrete way, will begin to take place. The human beings better qualities will win the day. I'm optimistic about that.

There is always hope, but my fear is that we will wait too long to realize we are in an emergency and then there will be no time to address the issues. Unfortunately, that seems very likely in the USA right now because our politics are so polarized. No-one will compromise and everyone hates the other side's guts. The issues get lost because the only thing that matters is winning and crushing and humiliating the other side. Very sad.
