I posted this in the schizophrenic forum because I'm schizoaffective, but maybe someone here can shed some light on this...
I have those crazy eyes where the whites are on top and pupil in middle, and flat affect. I take my medications and feel like they help me function normally, but think my crazy "look" is a barrier for me, to connect and fit into society, I am nice and calm, not shy but I think people are put off by my crazy "look". Why is this "look" common trait with mentally ill people, not everyone has it, but I do and I hate it, it's even on my drivers license, that wide eyed stare. I finally feel "normal" on medications most of the time, but don't look it in my face. |

I am sorry you are dealing with this, pokadots. I get something similar when I am manic. I have no idea why we get this stuff with our eyes. None. Mine seems to get better or go away when I am less symptomatic. I don't know what else to say.
