When I try to download ANYTHING, I get this message:
This Google Account is not yet associated with a device. Please access the Play Store app on your device before installing apps. Learn more. I have a Google account. I don't have a data plan. Can someone explain what I need to do? I have the Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime. |

What are you trying to download? It sounds like they want you to download it through app, If it’s an app you do have to have to go to play store. I think you might need google app? Google drive?
I sometimes hate technology. I just bought a new laptop to do work because I hate chromebook I have from work and now it wants to talk to my phone and link and sync to bunch of devices and accounts and I already have a headache from it |

I have a Chromebook and an Android phone and am terrible with technology of this sort. I do not like either one of them, especially, the Chromebook. Sorry I cannot help.

Your memory is full? Did it happen before?

Not sure how proficient you are - sorry if I assume you know too little.
Are you signed into the Play Store with your Google account? Might help if we knew what version of Android you're using? If you go to settings and scroll down to 'about phone' it will tell you what android build you're running. |

How do I sign into the Play Store? I think the problem is with my service. It is very limited and I suspect if I was able to "sign in", I'd be able to see it. Please let me know, though! My memory is getting full but I've always had this issue with other apps. I only use apps on my iPad. My cell is strictly for texting, calling, and internet. Now I need to transfer some info and I'm worried with the limitations, I won't be able to at all. |

If you go to the play store app keep pressing the 'back' arrow until you can't back out any further. Then there should be three horizontal lines up the top left. Tap on them and you'll see an 'account' tab. It will show if you're logged in. If you aren't, log in with your Gmail account (it's the same as your Google account).

And you can check your memory by going to settings (gear/cog icon) then down to 'storage'.

It sounds aggravating. I personally hate when technology doesn’t work snd I am not savvy enough to fix it. I’d probably consider buying a new phone or get a new data plan at this point. There might be some deals available. Companies are trying to unload older stuff. I just don’t have the patience if it’s not working right. Good luck

Try downloading a different app, any old app, just to see if it's something specific to the app you're trying to download or something else.
If you can download other apps then the following might help: go to settings, then to security, then to 'unknown sources' and toggle it to 'on'. It might help to let the app install. Make sure you turn it back off afterwards. If you can't download any apps try logging out of your Google account and logging back in - and make sure you're logging in with your Google account and not another email account. It should be your Gmail log in details. Did you check your storage to make sure there is enough room? |

I've never been able to download any apps.. although I've only tried 2 or 3. This same message came up and I never bothered looking into it.
I just created my Google account for this reason, thinking it would work but I'm still getting this same message. |

Ok, I don't have "unknown sources".. but I did discover my phone is now being backed up.. text messages, as of an hour ago. I believe it's going into Google Drive. How do I access this?
"Open Google Drive on your device and tap the three horizontal bars in the top left corner. In the left sidebar, scroll down and tap the entry for Backups. In the resulting window (Figure D), you will see the device you are using listed at the top as well as all other backed updevices." "Backups" is not on my list..? |

Sorry, but I can't help with Google drive - I don't use cloud storage for paranoid reasons, and have no idea how drive works.
It's been a long time since I made a Google account, but there may be some kind of activation email sent your Gmail account or something. Try logging into Gmail and seeing if you can find an email with 'account activation' or something along those lines. Otherwise you might have to consider backing up your data and doing a factory reset. You could always Google how to side-load apps for your Android version, but that's getting into some technical territory that might be overwhelming. |

When I buy new phone I ask people in the phone shop to transfer data for me. I always get everything transferred from old phone to a new phone before I clear out old phone.
Personally I find it safer to have important correspondence in emails. I accidentally delete texts with semi important info all the time. |

I use google drive all the time. You can access it from your google account, and from your gmail account, and have a separate app and link it to your gmail account.
Open your gmail. Click on a square waffle looking thing and you’ll see ton of stuff including google drive |

There is something wrong with your phone if you can never download any apps.

Ok.. WHERE is the backup stored?? Google Drive is empty and I can't find it anywhere in my gmail account. My cell says I've had backups done but I can't find them. It reads text messages have been backed up... ?
