that makes a lot of sense. that's too bad. i am not that active anymore but many years ago, when i was in deep despair, i always received invaluable support on pc. i do miss seeing members i got to know. sadly, such is online life..or like t4bby cat said, maybe some people just felt better? i still check in once in a while, to see if i can help in any way i can, just to pay forward all the kindness i received (and still to vent sometimes). |

I thought it may have to do with the type of content.
If a person floods a forum with the same content just with different titles that will impact the forum. People will only reply so many times to the same thing before they reduce their input...or take a break. __________________ Diagnosed: AvPD. It’s never alright. It comes and it goes. Content does not explain mass behavior. Perhaps 1-2 people, but not the masses.
Perhaps it's covid, perhaps it's that more people got busy, perhaps more people are becoming too depressed to reply, perhaps it's the recent technical issues, perhaps it's the sale, and perhaps it's any number of things. __________________ "Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination" ~4 Non Blondes |

Mental illnesses can most definitely get crippling for people to a point where they feel lost and even isolate themselves. We are constantly studying the brain and how to help those who struggle with mental illnesses in hopes to find ways to help them live their lives without the constant challenge with whatever their mental illness happens to be. |

I have also noticed it's been quieter. I know of a couple of people, or more, who are unable to log in because of ''personal issues''...

I don't think it has anything to do with anyone ''flooding'' the forums with the same posts. (with different titles). Some people left a while ago because .... I will not divulge personal information.

It really is quiet here... I am hopeful that any ''negative'' posts in this thread do not deter people from posting. This is, in general, a supportive place

I've never warmed up to this site. I like talking to SA and AvPD people, but those sections are not that active. There used to be a couple of good forums for those but they are either gone or much deader than this place.

One thing that has always been the case to some extent, but that seems to be becoming even more prevalent lately, is that new members post one thread (often in the New Member Introductions forum) but then I, at least, never see anything more from them again. I don't know if any of them show up in Chat (because I don't chat.) But perhaps they read other members' threads & reply? And maybe they take some of the quizzes & tests?

I think someone may have mentioned members who ''repeat'' themselves. There are certain topics I do NOT enjoy reading. I try to avoid those places... Topics which are not enjoyable to someone, or posters they do not enjoy, can usually be avoided, including using ''ignore'' if necessary. I am sure everyone knows this already I haven't noticed some of the things described in this thread. I try to focus on me rather than examining others through a microscope. I try not to judge since I have not walked with them... __________________ |

Me too. Like I said before, the forums get busy, get quiet, get busy. Things will pick up again. It's the nature of the beast.
For those who mentioned inappropriate or arguing threads. I'd encourage you to report those. Admins and mods do a good job of tending to us, but they can't be everywhere all the time. Skeezyks, I would miss you. |

Thank you for your wisdom, I feel the same way (how could it be a member's ''fault'' for posting the ''wrong way''.... surely those are lies we have been told ''too often'' irl including as cubs I very much doubt if any ''member'' here is powerful enough to deter a whole community from posting Respect and love to all Sentient beings __________________ Last edited by Fuzzybear; Oct 15, 2020 at 07:20 PM.. |
