Hello - We have been on an journey with our daughter's mental health. She has personality disorder for which we have had little luck finding underlying causes.

Has anyone had any luck with hypotherapy in getting at the underlying cause of issues?

Dear BlueLucky,

I am so sorry that you are in the situation you describe with regard to your daughter's mental health. Wish I had some insight to share about hypnotherapy, but sadly I have no personal experience with it. I hope there are members who have personal experience with it and who will see your post and respond to it with something really helpful.

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

Hypnotherapy was helpful for me. My therapist agreed to four sessions focusing on one issue - self-confidence. We spoke about underlying causes including bullying and early childhood (social) trauma. The sessions were very relaxing. All of the hypnotherapy was geared towards learning how to build my own self-confidence. I see this being a practice approach to weight loss, or breaking a bad habit but not to search into the subconscious.
