Therapy is driving me nuts. I keep getting bad advice and when I hit crisis mode, there are no therapists around.
I thought I had this all figured out. I found a therapist locally who did online sessions. I got advice from two therapists to "come clean" with my wife about some things. I tried it. My wife blew up and threatened divorce. Now I feel like I'm out in the cold, in the dog house, feeling alone and isolated with no support. On Friday i reached out to my therapist to ask for a next available appointment. She responded Saturday to say she could not talk via text. Too lengthy. Next available appointment was Monday. I told her I was going through drama. That didn't matter to her. Did I want to meet Monday at noon? I tried to find a therapist online. Can you believe their fees? Is this a "get rich quick scheme" or something? Some where asking $150-$250 an hour. I'm 68 years old and on Medicare. I can't afford their fees and they don't accept Medicare. This is crazy. And I'm tired of the call 911 messages too. Does anybody remember the video, they're coming to take you away haha? That's the way I feel. Call the crisis hot line and the ambulance will show up with the straight jacket for you to wear. I'm not ready for restraints. I can handle this. I can make this. I keep looking for help. I tried 7 cups. The listener got pissed when I asked them to tell me something about themselves. They asked why. They said it was a bad way to start off a conversation. This is ridiculous! I guess I still miss the AOL chat rooms. Sorry to vent, but I'm at my wits end. Life is too short to spend it looking for an empathetic ear. Does anybody have an Aunt Josie on speed dial? Ann Landers, Dr. Ruth or some other kind soul who listens and responds but doesn't charge an arm and a leg for 5 minutes of their time? What's the best online therapy site for a reasonable fee? Are there any free sites like 7 cups of tea where people will engage in friendly chats for free? |

And what happened to "Ask a Therapist" link on the forum. Error Page. I get page not found. Oh, I guess this free service is none existent. I see better help is the link of choice. I can't afford better help. I explained my situation and they offered a 10% discount. $80 a week is too costly for me.

Hi, I was wondering if you've tried the chatrooms here. They are not ''therapy'' but can be supportive (unlike some therapists, I have found)

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I've tried 7 cups, but not here yet. Thanks!

You can try the NOCD they provide ERP therapy but I am not sure what are the charges. They also have an app where there are people who have OCD and also who have tried their platform and they try to help other people suffering from OCD.
