Hello. I’m someone who struggles with things like (more than considerable) insecurity and being self-conscious while out anywhere in public, especially the more people there are around, and I’m just curious if something like or along the lines of, I guess, public 'humiliation' might help at all.

To give you a more specific idea of what I’m thinking, examples of the types of scenario(s) could be things like purposely making my hair look messy then going out for a walk, or something like wearing clothes I normally never would wear, or say, doing something I normally never would like while out on a walk I could (pardon the kinda unpleasant example lol) itch my lower ‘backside’, or start singing and dancing along to a song while at an intersection waiting to cross.

Again these aren’t the only specific ideas of scenarios, just general types of examples to give you a more detailed idea.

The idea is kinda more like exposure therapy maybe, like just exposing myself and becoming more ‘numb' to it, or you know just getting used to it after a while.

There's an exposure type therapy thing someone came up with very much like what you're talking about. Its called the rejection game, I think. You can order the cards (deck of cards) online. Each card has something on it you have to publicly do to hopefully "get rejected." If you get rejected, turned down, etc, you win. Rejection Therapy - Card Game — Rejection Therapy

i am So Sorry to hear about your struggles! Personally i'd say that such an exercise can prove itself to be fruitful so if you feel like trying it out, go ahead! Of course i'd also suggest other things such as therapy but that must be decided by you. SEnding many Safe, Warm hugs to BOTH you, @Photonate, your Family, your FriEnds and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

That sounds like a good idea. Starting with the messy hair is the least risky, so I think it’s a good way to try. Maybe no one will notice. If they do, they may just give you a mildly weird glance. You will know this is why they are giving you the look and not feel it’s something wrong with you to cause self conscious. You can fix you hair quick anywhere if you want to.

I think starting with the messy hair would be a good way to try this.
