Does anyone know how to get rid of ingrown hairs on your face? Mine are covered in them especially on my chin and they really hurt. Does anyone use anything on your face?

I have heard of a couple of things - 1, that it may be caused by shaving "the wrong way", that is, up (against the growth) instead of down. 2, that black men often have a problem with ingrowns so you might want to research that for solutions.

I washed my face really good with a bar of Dove men’s body and face soap. Then I used my acne cream. It seemed to help. Although my facial hair is scratchy in general and I just have to get used to it since it looks really good.

Are you using an aftershave to cleanse? That may help...also I think that masks are impacting this.

I never wash my face. I know that’s gross but I just forget. So I think that’s a problem. And yeah maskne too. My face feels a lot better and a lot less scratchy after scrubbing it with the Dove body and face soap and using the acne cream after.

I've had good luck using hibiclens for clearing up folliculitis. It's in the pharmacy section.

I occasionally have an ingrown hair on my leg or bikini area. It's not an issue on my face since I only get one or two dark hairs there, since I turned middle aged. Then I just pluck them. But it is known by some that exfoliation helps with ingrown hairs. Perhaps every so often use a light exfoliating face wash/scrub. There are many you can find in stores. They even sell electric brushes for use on the face, though I'd likely first just try the exfoliating wash, especially if your facial skin is sensitive.
