I want to speak to a psychologist about feeling that my race or gender is inferior, and dealing with those feelings, and it would help me a lot if I could give her the name for these feelings so that she would understand right away without my having to explain everything. Also I would feel better if it was in the DSMV because then I wouldn't feel as alone and weird in my feelings.
Thank you. |

That is tough I'm sorry you're having those feelings. From my experience therapists don't really like it when you say you feel you have X diagnosis you can choose to do whatever you prefer of course but if it were me I'd go in and list my symptoms. You could look up PTSD and Borderline Personality Disorder and see if either of those symptoms are what you're dealing with. And for what it's worth I think you're a human deserving of respect and kindness, even towards yourself I hope you are able to feel a sense of peace. Loving ourselves isn't always easy so you're not alone.

Yes it is tough at times. I looked through my internet history a bit and I found that I tend to obsess over this about once a month or so.
It's mainly about feeling inferior to women. And also I get upset at the media narrative that men have 'privilege' when if you look at the stats we are behind in so many areas. Many of these areas aren't even being addressed. |

Also I should mention that I have a fetish around being submissive to women. So it's complicated. Maybe I have to give up this fetish.

And I think it would be very helpful to talk about these feelings with a therapist but I don't think you will need to have a full explanation simply stating "I feel that my race or gender is inferior" they'll know the right questions to ask you from there. Edited: I just read the fetish comment, I think that would be beneficial to include in your therapy conversation too just in case that fetish is adding to your negative emotions. __________________ Just keep swimming I have BPD or Autism or both, we may never know, the focus is always the symptoms, not the diagnosis |

I also felt the social dynamic of men having to impress women, or to propose, or to pay for meals, etc, seemed unfair to me, and left men open to risk and ridicule. This probably relates to my dad's comments about women taking advantage of my naivetie. So yes I always had certain feelings along these lines. Yes I block all the news really, even on social media. |
