Why are there like these weird and gross ads and videos and memes all of a sudden of inapropriate pictures of people? I literally just got an ad for something illegal. I don't see anything from my friends. Just super strange stuff.
Does anyone else have issues with Facebook? __________________ Ridin' with Biden |

I think you have to tell them not to send you stuff or else they will. Its the algorithm.

go in to your facebook settings for ads and select what you do and dont want to see. you will always see ads of some kind on social media. this is why facebook is free. people pay meta/ facebook for ad space. like if you had something to sell you would call your local news paper and pay them to put up your ad for what ever you are selling. As long as facebook puts ads on facebook, you do not have to pay to have your facebook account, its free to you. the ads in videos is so that the people who make those videos get paid. like when you go to a doctor you or your insurance pays the doctor for doing his job. the people who make videos, thats their job, how they pay for their food, clothing and shelter/ rent. making videos on social media is job and a person who makes videos on facebook are called video creators. some creators have enough people watching their videos and like their page, support their page, that facebook has "monetized" their videos. that means the creators can get a small amount of money from ad revenue. people make the videos then facebook puts the ads into them during the business pages approval to schedule the video for viewers. the people watch the videos. see the ads, then facebook and the ad companies get paid, then facebook pays the video creator the money. you get to decide what ads you see. how that happens is -- by what your computer, cell phone settings for ads are. by how you are using your cell phone / computers (what you are googling, searching, looking up on the internet) by what you have set your facebook settings at what you have chosen to block / hide on your timeline suggestion - go into your devices settings and set your ad settings go into your facebook settings and set your ad preferences when you see an offensive ad post on your facebook page click the three dots and block/ hide it set your browser settings and dont do any internet searches on things you find offensive (browsers like chrome and edge both have settings for ads and they keep a history of what your computer /cell phone activities are, they select ads based on what you are doing on your computer and cell phone) |

The illegal thing was something Amazon was selling. I wonder how they can get away with that.
I ended up deactivating my account. It was too much anxiety and a headache to deal with. __________________ Ridin' with Biden |
