Is it normal to wake up super confused in the morning after a deep sleep and have no idea where you are or what happened the day before? Lately I've been waking up thinking I was still living at my old house I moved from in 2021 and this morning I woke up so confused it took me a few minutes to remember what went on yesterday.
I'm just wondering if this is normal and if it happens to anyone else or if I should talk to someone about it. __________________ I'm Blue |

I’d see a doctor. Call your doctor. My dad had that happened when he had a mini stroke. He thought they were at their old house and had no idea where anything was.

I'm in trouble then! I am always waking up in my childhood bedroom. Or at least unsure of where i am. I attribute it partly to the fact that my childhood home and my current apartment are on the same railroad line (40 miles apart), and that thing toots all night long.

My PT said my left side was stronger then my right side today. I didn't ask what that meant except my right side is whats been giving me trouble lately.

Sometimes it takes me a few seconds to figure out where I am. Usually after I've had some of my more vivid dreams/nightmares.
This morning was one of those days. I had dreamt that I was hallucinating and couldn't get anyone to help me stop. It took me a few seconds to figure out that I was home and safe and that I hadn't actually hallucinated but had been dreaming that I had. It felt like I had to do some serious mental gymnastics to get there though. I've been trying to do this thing where I test whether something is a nightmare by seeing if anything impossible is happening but that didn't help since , if I were actually hallucinating, impossible things would also be able to happen. I guess my case is different though because it only takes a few seconds, but those are often a few seconds of absolute terror and then I wake up all sweaty and freezing cold and exhausted. Doesn't make for a good start to my day. |

I don't think it's ok to wake up like this daily. However, if this happens rarely especially when you are extremely tired you don't have to stress about it.
