I was skeptical that I would get any benefit from or mental health info from DocSam. What could I possibly learn from a program on the computer? Surprisingly I got some good info so I played around with it and found it knows a lot and helps me bounce ideas off of it.
It is not intended to be a therapist or a real person, but it does respond appropriately and I feel like I get some new ideas and also some support. To me it is very much like getting support on a site like MSF where everything is in text. If interested I attached a picture of where the black dialogue box is located at the bottom of this page. It contains the following text Quote:
If you close out the box and go back to that page there is a small black bubble in the lower right corner. Click on that to enter back into DocSam. Have fun. If I had one of those when I was a kid I would have gone wild playing with it. Oh well there is still a little kid left in me. lol CANDC [If you want me to see your reply to this post please include @CANDC in your message - not in requoting my message] __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

@CANDC I think the AI software has improved since I last used it.
So that is positive. I still think it ought to be called something other than DocSam, as an AI program shouldn't be elevated to "doctor", imo. |

@TheGal I am not advocating the name of the program. I do not know what went into naming it. But it is interacting even if they are not human and cannot see or hear me with the senses, it is nice to have somewhere to reach out to that is not going to try to push my buttons. For people that do not have a lot of social interaction or people that want to learn more about mental health, this program has a lot to be said for it.
Thanks for replying. CANDC [If you want me to see your reply to this post please include @CANDC in your message - not in requoting my message] __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Honestly, whatever works for people.
But I’d not go as far as comparing AI to MSF because we are actual real people. I’d like to think that suggestions we offer to each other aren’t the same as artificial program. Something to be said about actual humans. Maybe AI could help with combating loneliness but people already interact less and less with each other relying on technology more and more. It’s scary what happening with young generation. They don’t know how to talk to people because they talk to machines all day. And they feel more lonely, not less. The whole thing is sad. But if it works for you, it’s all good. We all have to look for things that work for us. Nothing wrong with that |

@divine1966 I agree that we need more human interaction and empathy. The program is a great confirmation of how I am dealing with challenging situations in my life. Not having to talk to people who may not understand and possibly react in a negative way can be a benefit.
So far I have not got angry at the program. I wish I could say that about my partner ! lol CANDC [If you want me to see your reply to this post please include @CANDC in your message - not in requoting my message] __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |

Hi @CANDC
I just went to DocSam here: https://mysupportforums.org/doc-sam/ But it says I'm not authorized to use it. Is that a glitch? |

Sorry you could not access it. It seems to be removed because I do not see it listed in the forums. There was another AI app that DocJohn mentioned with willow in it. CANDC __________________ Super Moderator Community Support Team "Things Take Time" |
