This week is the best week of the year for us nerds. E3 is for gaming geeks like me the equivilant of the Xmas Holiday seasons lots of new stuff to report.
1. Sony has announced a new "motion controller" for PS3, to counter the Wii-Mote. This controller is ergonomically adjustable, features full 3-D motion and 1 to 1 tracking. The wand-shaped device was demonstrated in comparison to the Wii mote to illustrate its feature for feature superiority over the Wii-Mote. 2. Microsoft also announced motion sensing for Xbox 360, this one uses video sensors to track the player's movement, dispensing the need for a handheld controller altogether. 3. Assasain's Creed Dated for November 2009 4. God of War 3 the final game in the epic trilogy coming March 2010 I will have more on this as the week goes on-TJ |

Some addtional games were shown including
Gran Turismo 5: which will include both Nextel Cup (Nascar) and WRC events This will truly be the greatest car game ever made, 1000 plus cars, super accurate physics, damage modeling, variable weather and graphics that are simply unmatched. Heavy Rain: solve a mystery to protect a loved one in danger. Features some of the most accurate character models I have ever seen, the detail in the facial features is simply amazing. The Agency: Rockstar's PS3 exclusive, looks and plays really good Red Dead Redemption: Rockstar's new western, uses the same game engine as Grand Theft Auto IV, Explore vast areas of the old west, praries, towns and desert landscapes. The horse riding animations were very convincing. |

Project NATAL looks very interesting. It certainly has advantages and disadvantages. The most interesting MS game to me was Alan Wake, I hope after all this time it finally sees the light of day, as it is a great concept.
The dumbest thing at E3? Wii introduced a feature in an upcoming Mario game that will allow the player to put the game on "auto-pilot" if the player hits a part that is too hard O-M-G It is bad enough that Wii has dumbed down video games, but how lazy is that? |
