The other night was a late one working in the yard. I brought in my doggies who were out on their long leashes while I was working so they could have fresh air......by that time it was dark & I was tired.

I fixed some dinner & then crashed for the night. Next morning, it was kind of rainy, I looked out my kitchen door into the garage, noticing that I hadn't closed my garage door the night before, but more to my surprise was a dog at my kitchen door. ROSCOE????? It looked just like Roscoe.....after rescuing him from the auto accident infront of my house & nursing him back to health last year from July to September, how could I not recognize him.....but the scar wasn't there.......was it Roscoe???? Had to be.....he jumped up & had more kisses & yes, the fur had grown back over the 10 inch scar in his hip.......it was definitely my sweet Roscoe that I rescued.....he sure hadn't forgotten me.

What in the world was he doing at my house?????. Started thinking back. The other girl that was in the accident lives a mile down the road.....maybe they had been visiting & Roscoe slipped away???? It was pouring rain but we got into my truck & took off to see if that was where he came from. No one there. The dog tag definitely said Roscoe also but the phone # wasn't working at all...& no forward #. The address was in the next town over....far enough away I was sure he hadn't left to come back to my house. I finally got in touch with the lady down the street & Roscoe hadn't been there for several months.

Ok, it was time to do some thinking. I remembered that the father of the girl's boyfriend alo lived down the block from me.....ok, but where & who???? I looked again at the dog tag & the last name. I decided to google the white pages & sure enough......there was a person who lived right down the street from me with that same last name....it must have been the boyfriends father, so I called & sure enough.......ROSCOE was MIA.....& they were sure wondering where he had gone. They were thinking that he might have come to visit me & were going to check it out, but I got the call in first. He came down later that night & picked up Roscoe & also my long line leash so he wouldn't take off again as he had been used to living indoors before moving & when the boyfriend had gone to work that morning, Roscoe went investigating & remembered where I lived to come & say hi.

It was the sweetest visitor I have ever had & what a wonderful welome......I never would have imagined that Roscoe would have remembered me let alone stopped by for a visit.....it sure was a nice way to start off my day.

There isn't anything more special then doggie kisses from a long lost fiend to start the day off right.

Debbie (the mother of 6 american eskimo dogs)
