I just went to the good grocery store, yesterday, the one that stocks local produce and they had the first of the wild blueberries! I totally love wild blueberries, they're so much better than the cultivated kind you get year round. For those of you who have never had wild blueberries they're smaller, sweeter, and more intensely blueberry flavoured. They're also expensive as sin down here, because they have to be transported from Northern ON, Quebec, or BC. But I splurge on them every year because they remind me of being a kid when I could go out and just pick em from the blueberry bushes behind our cottage.
Maybe next weekend, I'll buy more and make muffins. The only sad thing, is I associate wild blueberries with the end of summer because they're usually a late Aug, / early Sept. crop. But anyway I had a huge bowl of them for breakfast this morning so I'm going to have a good day. ![]() |

Yes , I also love blueberries . I haven't picked them in a long time
though. I remember I used to pick them by the quarts when I was young and sell them to the neighborhood. Yes it means the end of summer is upon us also . Blueberry pie was always my favorite. My grandmother made the BEST. ![]() ![]() MMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! YUMMMMMMY !!!!!!!! ![]()
