As any Sony PS2 afficiando knows; God of War(2005) and its sequel God of War 2(2007) were among the greatest games ever produced on the system. Few video games have ever approached its level of production quality.

For those of you who have a non-backwords compatible PS3 and missed out on these stellar titles I have great news! Sony in honor of the final installment in the series (God of War 3 of course) is set to release a special edition of GoW1 and 2 formated to Blu Ray, this will enable these games to be played on any PS3 model.

The package will include both of the games in their entirety and all bonus features (making of, interviews, and other extras) from both games will be included. The games will get a nice coat of polish in the form of a hi-def upgrade to 720P, plus some additional tweaks. Back when they were released, the two titles pulled stuff off visually that many developers thought was impossible to do on PS2 at the time. This treatment should make the games even more spetacular.

God of War 1 and 2 are hack n-slash action games that tell the story of the mighty Spartan warrior Kratos as he sets out to kill Ares the God of War. The games sported incredible visuals, a orchestral score that would rival anything from Howard Shore, powerful voice acting (TC Carlson's delivery as Kratos is fantastic) and very well written plots, with lots of twists and intrigue that does a brilliant job incorporating elements of Greek mythology. The mechanics are silk smooth. Playing Kratos will simply make anyone feel more powerful. If there was one word to describe these titles it would be: EPIC

When this comes out you guys will get a full review, look for it before Turkey Day. For those of you who have a PS3, and have not played this, grab it!! If this sells well Sony will probably select some other PS2 games for this treatment
