Has anyone here tried finding some of their friends back in grade school, or maybe high school? I have been trying to find some of my childhood friends, and I'm having no luck with it.

Jerrymichelle, I do it all the time. I start with classmates.com then to facebook then myspace.com. Sometimes I will just google their name and anything else you know about them...got lots more tricks that also work. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

I have tried facebook, and myspace. nothing. I've never heard of classmate. I will give that a try. It would be so cool to see a childhood friend, especially back in elementary school. I think that I'm having problems with the name change. I'm not going to know that. lol
It's just driving me nuts.

We just had our 40th reunion and most of the contacts were thru Facebook. We originally started on Classmates but a lot did not want to pay the fees. We ended up with over a hundred class members on facebook. It takes a lot of networking to get everyone but you can do it.
Thanks for this!

Females usually list their maden name as well as their married name so old friends could find them. Let us know how it's going.

Classmates works well.
I was successful with it, for those I wanted to find.
I paid the trial membership thingie, (to get me in), then did what I needed to do, and let it expire.....I didn't need to be a membership longer for my initial 'seek n find' purpose....lol..I'm bad.

I have no idea how much the full membership is, but if I understand correctly, it is worth it if a longer term is what you seek.

Good luck, Michele. Hope you find who you're seeking.
Yay! What fun.

There is this girl I went to school with in elementary. We played together all the time. We even had the same birthday. I remember her telling me that she was moving. It didn't bother me until she was gone. I think that we were together up until 3rd grade. After she moved, I never heard from her again. I think that I can find some of my high school friends. A lot of them ( I think) are still in my home town. Back in my early 20's I had a crush on my boss. He wasn't even good looking. I think he had a crush on me too. I was married, he was married. lol, After I got fired, I would call him up at work, or I would go out there, and see him. The last time I tried to get a hold of him, he was gone. I wonder now what has happened to him. He was a really nice guy.

I went to my 6th (usually 5th, but my class was too cheap to make it by the 5th), HS class reunion back in...let's see..*think think*..'Peter Frampton "Comes Alive" dual album came out when I graduated, that was in '76..so, yeah...back in '82...lol. (Amazing..takes me something like music to jolt memory....lol..shows what took precedence back then...."partaaaaaaaaaay"..lmao).

Many of the people I saw there didn't even recognize me, (was a healthy 160 lbs. in my first years of high school, but lost 60 of that due to being kicked out in Soph year). Most who knew me were amazed that I was still alive, (they've heard rumors I'd died from drug overdose...O.O).

Since, I've pondered on some of the one's I used to hang with, even looked a few up, but sadly, couple have died from drug-related tragedies, and some haven't really even changed, much. Certainly not what I hoped to associate with anymore.

I really wish you the best of luck finding your friend, Michele. Classmates can prove to be a great source for that, depending on who registers through classmates, and what school they include, too. Oddly, some don't register their elementary, for some reason.

All the best of luckiez to you.

No not yet. I have been finding I guess look alikes, and sending messages. Just a few minutes ago on facebook, I think that I found a brother of a childhood friend. I also found one of my sister's school bf's. I sent him a message to. I will keep trying.

Maybe try genealogy sites, if you know his/her former names? I tried to get in touch w/my best friend from high school (not the one I married!), but she didn't want contact because she has "changed her life." She married a guy right out of h.s. due to being pregnant & I guess things didn't go very well. She wants no contact w/her "past life."--Suzy

Almost, like an adoptive child seeking her/his bioligical parents & finding out that the bioogical parent does not want any thing to do w/them...
Thanks for this!
