I bought some Egg Nog and the cashier said that it's real bad for my heart, is that true?

Traditionally made with heavy cream and eggs, and includes sugar and milk, it is high in calories (345 in 1 cup), saturated fat and cholesterol, so it could be considered "bad" for the heart.
Enjoy it in moderation, 'tis the season.

Hey Jay - you can buy the low fat version - in fact I prefer it because egg nog can be very heavy. So you can still enjoy it

If you are going to drink a quart a day throughout the year it would be unhealthy but who could stand that? I only but a half gallon one time during the holidays so I am not worried about health effects of that much. I can't add rum though because of my psych meds. Oh well it still is tasty.

I'm with the above knowledgeable responders. The cream and eggs are not particularly good for your heart, but a half gallon during the holidays should not be any cause for concern. The cashier who made the remark was probably just trying to make conversation. Know that you are cared about here. PC is the best source of information and support that I have found. billieJ
