Does anyone here write to get feelings out ? Not keeping a diary, just writing what ever comes into ur head ? I've just started and I will definately keep it up, it's really helping.

I thought about writing, but I have a fear that someone will find the writings and know my feelings, so I even hold back when I am just by myself, isn't that strange?

I have tried to keep a journal but when I go to write in it, I just keep writing general things about the day, those deep feelings just don't come out

Hi, I have been writing poems since 1979 to express my feelings and it gives me the greatest release. Don't be surprised if you notice an improvement in your mental health. Peace - Dennis
Thanks for this!

Poems, whether they rhyme or not, are a good release. I used to write a lot of poems and general prose (read as: Rants).

Another thing to consider if you're worried about people finding your journal, is keep a private one online, i have one on LiveJournal which i keep private and have no friends. I haven't used it for a little while now, but it really helped me work through things after me and my ex boyfriend split.
