ok, so this probably seems like a little thing, but it was a big deal for me. Yesterday (Sun) I mended 4 pairs of pants. It was all simple things like fixing ripped seams, but I am so not domestic it's scary, normally the most I can manage is replacing a button.

Now I have 4 pairs of "new" pants that I can wear to work, without having spent a cent.

I'm feeling very proud of myself.

Good for you! It is amazing how great "little" accomplishments can seem. I wish I could even sew buttons on pants, but they just fall off if I try. Sewing is not my strong suit I guess you could say!!

So proud of you too splitimage. Isn't it great to have new found/fixed clothes to wear that are free?

You are ready to move one to bigger and better things.

Congratulations, Splitimage! I am an accomplished seamstress (used to make my own lined jackets and such) but anymore, mending a pair of pants is a major hurdle after being out of practice for any length of time. Doing one pair and I'm ready to call it quits. But you did FOUR! Amazing! You should be very proud of yourself, that is no easy task. And doesn't it make you angry sometimes that you can go into a store and pay a decent price for something nowdays and before you've worn them once, you have some seam somewhere to mend? Drives me crazy! Especially the buttons. They don't tie off the buttons. Inevitably, you lose one.

I, for one, am very impressed with your perseverance in getting all four pair done. Well done.

That is so awesome. Wish you would come to my house. I am looking at my sewing maching mocking me right now, along with the pile of projects and mending that is waiting for me. I just cannot seem to make myself do it.

And I think it is extra awesome that you took the time to mend some perfectly good pants instead of scrapping them and buying new. In tough economic times, having the skills to provide for yourself instead of spending money is a huge asset. Congrats on your "new" clothing.
