Gary Coleman has died after suffering a intracranial hemorrhage that left him in a coma and on life support. He was taken to the hospital on Wednesday, and his condition deteriorated as the days went on. After being on life support for a day, his family made the decision to remove him from the machinery that was keeping him alive. He was 42 years old.

Very sad, it seems all of the kids from that show have had troubled and difficult lives, Dana Plato who played "Kimberly" committed suicide in the early 90s and Todd Bridges has had numerous run ins with the law.

Timtg5- Y'know..I started to wonder if being on the show had anything to do with that... :|
Maybe being such huge child stars wasn't that good? |

I think the real tragedy is that he never seemed really happy. And then he died.

In the midst of the tragedy, I'm confused. Some news articles are saying that the brain hemorrhage caused the fall, and others are saying the fall caused the brain hemorrhage. Are there any definitive explanations yet?
Former child stars are notorious for going bad later in life. (My first husband was only a regional child star, not a national one, and HE went bad.) I think the late Mr. Coleman had been on the road back to sanity, and I hope he did experience some happiness before he died. We all have our own opinions on whether or not there is an afterlife too--I say yes--and I also hope he is happy there. |

Poor guy. He was a great child actor whose life was plagued with money issues. What a shame to lose him.

Poor Gary. I saw a video of him right before he died someone caught up with him just on the street. He was positive and upbeat, saying he had "a little seizure activity" but was doing well.
He was and was up until his death such an adorable guy. Plagued with problems, but honestly what child star isint? I think the issue is these stars start WORKING when they really should be out playing on the playground and being silly kids. And what must it be like to have to fit a perfect mould for the industry at such a young age. *shakes head* I know if my son was offered an acting position at a young age, I would be inclined to say NO until he was older, at least a teen. Yes it makes money, but is the money worth it with all the stress? I might enrol him in a youth drama course, but actual acting or singing or whatever as a career? Nah. Kids should be kids. |

Some years ago while my daughter and I were in the mall, this woman approaches us and asks me for a moment of my time.
She introduced herself as a child talent agent from LA, on the look for fresh faces and she loved my daughter's look. Offered me a chance to bring my daughter down to LA for screening for a commercial. I took her business card, but didn't follow through with it. My daughter was only 5 or 6, I think, and I just wasn't into the idea of exposing her to a possible life of that, (IF it ever went that far). I can't help but to think of that show, "Toddlers in Tiaras"...those poor lil kids...what they go through because of their parents. Gary Coleman rest in peace. Shangrala ![]()
