I just had a close call. Felt like I was dying. My legs were shaking so bad that I thought either Elvis Presley is trying to possess me or my blood glucose is way down. Sure enough my level was in the 50's. A little grape juice took care of that.

Glad you're feeling better. Are you diabetic?

Hi Lynn, Yes been diabetic for about 6 years. It was always out of control until just recently. The doc added a couple of other meds besides the insulin and now it is usually in a good range ecept for today when it dropped too low. Peace - Dennis

I think I'd rather the diabetes as bad as that may sound.
Elvis is dead.
Glad you managed to get those levels up , that can be very scary.

Thank God you had the juice right away. If you're driving or out, do you make sure you have something to eat or drink in case this happens?

My grandmother on my mothers side died of diabetes years ago. She had 18 children before she died. The French Canadians had large families back then. Peace - Dennis

I always keep Glucose tablets with me in the car for emergencies. The only problem is I am always tempted to eat them because they taste like big sweet tarts. Unfortunately I am a candy lover. Especially chocolate. I am trying to cut down on the chocolate to like every other week. If I deprive myself I will lose complete control and the eat why more than I should. Peace - Dennis

my mom has been type 1 diabetic since she was 11 years old. She's now 53 and just got the insulin pump a few years ago and it has greatly helped with her blood sugar levels. She always brings orange juice with her if she gets a low blood sugar.. and she has glucagon injections for emergencies. I'm glad you feel better! It's amazing how a glass of juice can really help with your blood sugar levels eh? I don't know what my mom would do without orange juice!

Hi Amanda, I wanted the pump really bad but there were issues with my insurance. Atleast my levels are more normal now than before. Peace - Dennis
