Ok - I will freely admit that I'm a slob at the best of times - I'm the antithesis of neat. And put me in a drinking relapse or depressive episode and I let things fall totally apart. I've had both recently, so my apartment is totally unfit for human habitation.

Fortunately, tomorrow (Mon.) is a holiday here so I'm going to make myself get up at 7 and spend the day cleaning. I always feel better after I clean. I also have motivation, as my friend Dave is coming over Wed. night to help me carry my old ancient TV out for garbage pickup and I'm too embarrassed to let him see my place like this.

So here goes nothing - tomorrow cleaning it is.

Good luck on the cleaning. I know when I get depressed I also let cleaning sit on the back burner. Make sure to take breaks while you are cleaning.

Good luck Splitimage!
As googley said, allow yourself to have breaks. I do the same thing when I'm studying, those breaks are real life savers. ;o

Good luck. You would not want to see my place. Just us guys. My son, me and the cat. Last time I tried to clean a little I found a welder and drill press in the living room.
Mom won't come over anymore.

Well, I'd say the day was 2/3 successful. I thoroughly cleaned the kitchen including washing the floor, and cleaned the living room and my two bedrooms. That leaves the dining room table, which has been the dumping ground for all my parcels / papers for the last 6 months or so and the bathroom.

I figure I can tackle the bathroom first thing after work tomorrow night and can make my way through a bunch of the dining room while watching TV tomorrow night & if it's not done before Dave comes over, I'm not worried - it's not dirty it's just chaotic.

I've arranged a special garbage pickup to come get my old used microwave that died on the 17'th so it'll go out to the curb tomorrow night. My nice shiny new microwave takes up way less space, and Dave will come over on Wed. to help me carry my very large dead TV to the curb for pick up on Thurs.

Now it's time to kick back and watch the Olympics.

Way to go splitimage! Nothing like having family or friends come over to get you cleaning and picking up.

And I now declare victory over the bathroom - it is now all shiny sparkly clean - nothing like a little VIM and TILEX and hard scrubbing.

So the only thing left is my disaster of a dinning room table, and I'm not worrying about that. Dave's seen my place a lot worse.

Actually we used to be roommates (strictly platonic) so we're used to each other's messy tendancies.

And tonight I carried my old huge microwave (20+ years old) out to the curb for special garbage pick-up tomorrow.

Time to relax.
