So I spent today test driving cars, and comparing features, financing, and warranties and all those other good things, and decided to go with the Hyundai Elantra. It handles really well, and has all the features I wanted, plus I few extra that I considered nice to have but not absolutely necessary for several thousand dollars less than either the Mazda 3 or the Honda Civic. Plus it had the best warrantee of the three companies.

So while I had hoped to hold on to my old car for a couple more years, it was 11 years old after all, so it's kind of nice to have a shiny new car.

Not looking forward to car payments, but I got a pretty decent finance rate, so they're not too bad, and the best part is I got the colour I wanted, red. The dealer had one red car in the Elantra model I wanted on the lot, and as it was a 2010 they were eager to get rid of it. So I got a really good price.

Financing still has to be approved by the bank, but I'm not worried about that, and I have a bunch of running around to do, but the car should be ready for me, by Tues or Wed. of next week.

I'm really tired but psyched.

The Elantra is a great car! I had one until last year when I bought something I could haul my art in. I still miss the Elantra. Plus...you get great gas mileage and it's very, very dependable!

Thanks for posting the pic Kaika - yup, that's what my car looks like.

My last car was red too - it was a Honda Civic SI, that I had for 11 years.
