This has probably been done before (I've only been here for a week!) but I thought I'd start a thread where people can post some pictures of themselves.
Usually a person who's created a thread about something would start off, but every time I've joined in these photo things in the past I've noticed a slight increase in receiving, ahem, PM's from male members who 'just wanted to say hi'. I dislike that immensely. |

Are you saying you do or do not want to post a picture of yourself? Your post is confusing to me...

Hi Evening,
Glad you're here, but I'd rather not post a pic of myself. A) I don't feel I'm that good looking, B) Even though I love you all, there is a certain safety I feel in remaining unrecognizable, and C) The internet is a small world. Some current/future employers and other important folks will do internet searches on people and all they have to do is put your name into google and they can find almost anything you put out on the internet. I'm happy being as anonymous as I can and don't need my ugly mug leaving a trail all the way to my mental disorders. Welcome to PC though!! __________________ |

My pic's on my profile, as well and also throughout net. That sorta stuff doesn't bother me much, (being so public and all). Although Ely does make some very good points regarding reasons why caution should be practiced...(not cuz of her personal opinon of self. (as we all feel sorta that way about our own selves)..lols....but cuz of safety n whatnot). That made sense, right? Btw....very lovely picture, VH. Shangrala __________________ IU! |

Mine's on my profile too...I posted a pic of myself on a thread a long time ago, but felt really uncomfortable after doing it. Wonder why I never took it off...

Don't be offended Evening. Many people just prefer to remain anonymous and as many said, pics are up in the profiles.

I'm not offended by anything, I was just surprised because usually when people make these threads they go really well. I figured some people might just like to share a photo and a story, you know, a party they went to, a friend of theirs, a holiday, etc. No big deal if people don't want to.

I think it would be cool if you wanted to put your pictures up. It is a cool idea, it's just not for everyone. I'm sorry you felt scared.
