I just downloaded itunes version 9.1 the other day. From the start, I haven't been able to get into the itunes store. It comes up with an alert message saying "itunes cannot connect to the itunes store. Check your internet connection". My connection is fine, and my firewall and proxy servers are set to allow itunes. Can someone please help me figure this out?

Did you install Quicktime too? (Apple product)

Personally I would reinstall it again.

Good Luck

Thanks for the help guys. Unfortunately it still isn't working I've done everything...I think it may have something to do with my firewall, but I don't know how to change it. You have to have some sort of number when you add a program in the exceptions list, and I don't have it. This is frustrating..

Uninstall, then reinstall it. Or try and find an older version of Itunes and install that instead.

Indie, I don't know how much this will help...

But in iTunes, go to the Help menu (it's the last one) and in the drop down menu click "Run Diagnostics..." and make sure all of the tick boxes are checked.

Maybe it will be helpful?

(I hope)

Have you changed ANYTHING since you installed the latest upgrade of iTunes?

Thanks for the help Christina I think I did just about everything there was to do. At the end I just took everything off of my computer that was listed under "iTunes" and redownloaded an older version of the program. Works fine now, hope it stays that way!
