So this is it folks -- 15 years of providing mental health information and resources online. Can you believe it!?? This was pre-Google. Pre-WebMD. Even before the NIMH. The web was brand new and I thought it might be helpful to move my reviews of great online resources onto the web (these indexes I had been doing since 1992 online). Here's what the first version of Psych Central looked like:
http://bit.ly/bJefSJ This was about a year old, and we had already been visited by 784,000 people! Now we're visited by over 1.1 million people each month from around the world -- over 120 countries. We've been mentioned in countless publications and in 2008 we were named one of the 50 Best Websites online by TIME.com. It doesn't get any better than this. And our success is due in part to having a thriving, safe and reliable support community -- you, our members. You've chosen to make Psych Central your home, and for that I am eternally appreciative. Especially our most senior members who've spent years here -- first getting help, and now giving it freely to so many others who find us. We couldn't keep this home a safe and supportive place without the efforts of dozens of volunteers over the years. My current co-administrators -- _sabby_ and Christina86 -- are my right-hand people and oversee a great group of community team members, who currently include super-mods bebop, January, wanttoheal and moderators bipolar_bear, Clyde, gimmeice, and Michah. So my hats off to all of you, our loyal members, to our community support team, our community liasons, and our chat leaders. Thank you for making this a great 9 years of community here, and 15 years on the Web!! Yay Psych Central!!!! Happy birthday! We are all so happy that this place exists and we have found a sanctuary here. Thank you so much for being here and for being our support! There are many more years to come with lots of people finding help here. Good for you!

My Support Forums is the online community that was originally begun as the Psych Central Forums in 2001. It now runs as an independent self-help support group community for mental health, personality, and psychological issues and is overseen by a group of dedicated, caring volunteers from around the world.
