Had a physical last week. It did not go well. My Dr. was very pointed about my being quite overweight and out of shape. Yes I know I have to do something about it, I just don't appreciate the scare tactics. My heartrate is too high which has all of my Dr's freaked out, but my blood pressure is too low to go on beta blockers, so my gp wants my pdoc to reduce my Effexor to see if that lowers my heart rate. Except my Effexor is working at the dose I'm on. And my cholesterol level is too high. Scare tactics time again. She also wants me to eliminate all caffeine from my diet. Big challenge there as I'm a coffee addict. And she sent me for my first ever mammogram, she likes to start screening women at 40. (Not a pleasant experience) and my Opthamalogist has started talking about how I'll need bifocals soon.

So I guess there's some urgency to start getting in shape and losing weight, and I am motivated, I just wish I was 20 and didn't have to worry about all this stuff.

I know how you feel about growing older.
It certainly has a way of sneaking up and biting you where you least expect it, doesn't it? At least, it has for me.

Though if I had to choose between being 20 again (and with that, all the drama, trauma and struggles) verses my age now (and having to deal with the realities of aging)....I'll stick with being older. For me, life was FAR harder when I was 20, despite the fact that I had the body for it.

I wish you the best with your battle with caffeine, as that is one of my crutches, too. And I hope all works out for you with regaining your health.

Best of luck....
