I do! But I always seem to be one step behind everyone else - by the time I get game consoles, for example, they no longer sell new games for them, hehe.

I love the film "Napoleon Dynamite" Found this link on youtube:

I do and I don't. It's hard (and expensive) to keep up with the latest technology, and if you want to program or code anything, once you've got it, they come out with changes and new stuff that you have to adjust to.

I don't care about keeping up with the latest technology, so long with what I'm using does all I want to do. I've had the same stuff for almost 6 years or so... might need to update sometime later this year/next year since it's getting to the point where a lot of new cool stuff is out there that I can't do on my old stuff.
Thanks for this!

I despise technology for the sake of technology (video games, massive TV, computer animation of the Avatar kind, etc). I like technology for the sake of knowledge (telescopes, microscopes, space station, medical technology, etc).

Thanks for all the replies but I was equally interested in opinions about the film "Napoleon Dynamite". The guy in the link I posted is not Napoleon and that song the guy in the link sings makes me cry sometimes. They're getting married when he sings that song for her and they met online.

I'm not into computer gadgetry nor am I into the "keep up with the joneses" mentality though my SIL is...I bought a new lap top so she bought a new better one...then I bought another new one and so she went out and bought one that was $2000 more than what I paid...I will never understand that mentality...what causes it I wonder?

I wasn't a big fan of Napoleon Dynamite. Some parts were amusing, but just not my cup of tea.

I wasn't suggesting that it was the greatest film of all time but it warmed my heart mostly rather than made me laugh because it is a triumph of the characters in life that everyone else either pokes fun at or ignores completely.

It hurt me to read that you missed the point I was trying to make which was this: that guy who gets married would never ever have met someone in real life even though he was a kind soul. His lack of social skills was the reason and so he diverted his passions and interests into technology. And his love of technology did not let him down because he met someone online. For him to say "I love you more than technology but I still love technology" is one of the most romantic things I've ever heard given the context in the film. It could equally have been a woman for example who loves horses more than anything else in the whole world meets someone that she is astonished to find she loves more (or as much as) horses.

And none of you love those poor electronics experts who dedicated massive parts of their lives in order for you to communicate in the manner you all are doing right now, supporting each other and making friends that you would not otherwise have had?

Sorry for the rant

I'm intrigued and excited about technology and how it can be used. I tend to be slower by a step or two when it comes to keeping up with trends, but that's okay with me. I seriously detest trying to follow the heard.

I love when technology provides a way to help us do things differently than the old way, but not really supplanting the old way - i.e. microwave ovens, digital cameras, content that for years was only available through TV now can be viewed over the internet, etc., etc.

I have my gadgets, but I've long since learned that gadgets can be expensive so most of my gadgets are here for good useful reasons.
