All day yesterday my internet kept disconnecting and then reconnecting some time later. It appears to be fine now, but some things are very slow and a couple websites won't load at all. I'm wondering, is anyone else experiencing connection problems? In the back of my mind I'm blaming it on the solar storms everyone on the internet is talking about - they said it could disrupt internet connections. Am I the only one?

I've heard the solar flares could theoretically cause problems. We had some slowness day before yesterday but no dropping out. Hope it gets fixed soon; have you tried a computer scan for viruses? This place wouldn't be the same without you Indie!

Aww thanks you guys I was going to contact my ISP if it wasn't ok by this morning (this was last night), but it appears to be fine. We have a crappy provider, it's called Skyweb. This would never had happened if we had stuck with Charter, but we're locked into a two year contract

If they aren't keeping up their end of the agreement which is a premium service with minimum interuptions and a good connection there should be a fair play clause; that means that they could either rebate you some time/usage.

If the service is not continual or if it is consistently interupted you can negotiate out of the contract. You need to insist on the fair play thing. If that doesn't work you make a complaint to the communications commission/ombudsman etc and usually they will give in before it gets there...This is only for genuine issues but it does work and they usually give in because often they are found against and have to refund fees paid for non-delivery of service
