So Im getting an EEG this morning at 830 and they told me I have to be sleep deprived with no caffeine within 24 hours. And....to make matters even better....its my birthday. So I am having a massive headache and have another 4 hours to go until I go to the hospital. Why do I have to be sleep deprived? All Im thinking about is my bed right now.....

Oh my, I couldn't do it! Sorry you have to go through this. I also wonder why you have to be sleep deprived for the EEG but I suppose they have a good reason. Best of luck and hang in there for the next few hours.

And happy birthday.

I would probably be so irritable I would bite the doc's head off when I arrived for the test. Take some Excedrin and get a nap after your test!

I know I just told you to take caffeine and a nap but if you are tired enough it won't matter much!

I asked once I got there and the tech said that putting stress on my brain makes it more likely to see any seizure activity going on in my brain. And luckily a nap was part of the test. I got to sleep for a while because they wanted to see my brain activity while sleeping. When I got home the first thing I did was chug a come and go to bed haha. They also had me close my eyes while they ran a strobe light and then had me breathe heavily like I was hyperventilating. So I guess they're trying to see if any areas of my brain are over stimulated by carbon dioxide deprivation and fast lights. I also had an ultrasound on the nodule on my thyroid which wasn't bad at all.

Thanks for the happy birthday! I was in class all day but oh well. I'll keep everyone posted on my results. Thanks for the support!
Thanks for this!
