I posted a thread about living creatures. It was beging...I can understand it was moved to the Pet section of the forum, but I was informed that it had upsetting content. What was the upsetting content? I received positive comments so I don't understant. And, I was informed that a "trigger icon" was added for this upsetting content. Can someone please explain this?

You should contact a moderator via PM because they will be able to explain to you what happened with your post.

Hmm well I can try to help. I used to help mod here so I have some ideas.

Upsetting content can be a wide berth. The best way to think of it is "would this comment upset someone who might have been in this situation or had PTSD due to something related?"

Basic ideas of upsetting content are death, abuse, sexual content, suicide and self harm, as well as drug abuse or alchohol abuse.

That doesn't mean that you can't post it (use your judgement of course, there are rules that can't be broken - such as NO suicidal posts), just that we ask that you use the trigger icon. Thats the icon with a black X in a red circle below the post you are typing when you are replying or making a new post. look directly below the box you are typing in and you should see
You may choose an icon for your message from the following list:

and this is the Trigger Icon:
I Don't Understand
As well as others. Choose the one above.

That just lets people know in case they are in a bad spot, that something could be upsetting to THEM.

The thing about this is it can be up to a certain degree of interpretation - everyones triggers are different. So thats why sometimes a post has to be moved or have an icon added. This is in no way saying you are in any trouble or have done something wrong - just a moderator looking out for others.

As to why it was moved to pets - generally anything related to animals is put there, just to keep it tidy in the forums. Beleive me, a long time ago when there was just a few forums to choose from it would be harder to find certain topics. This just makes it a bit easier.

Hope thats helpful - and hope you arent upset or anything
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
