I'm not familiar with the 'merit' system - does this mean he's 1st in grades? That's wonderful he's so accomplished and you're so proud. Bravo to Tishies ((Son)).

If a child does very well with class work or home work they can earn a merit, a merit is registered online on the merit site and the person with the most merits at the end of the year will win an I Pad !

Really encourages a child to do well...

Oh wow that would be very encouraging. My daughter would love that sort of reward system. Yay for your son - I hope he wins the IPad!!

Way to go Tishie's kid! I don't know anyone who ever looked back on their life and said "I wish I hadn't done so well in school."

It took my son his whole life to figure that one out - plus four years in the military - but thankfully he did. I guess he prefers to learn his lessons the hard way. He's in college now, and we just found out he's on the dean's list - 3.8 out of a possible 4.0 GPA. It's a first for him because he never took school seriously. I overheard him one day tell a friend that getting an A on a really hard test or class is better than alcohol or any drug known to man.

Congratulations to you and your son.
Thanks for this!
