So today I woke up to a computer that threw pop-up messages at me, claiming that one of my .dll files had disappeared. Couldn't get anything running besides the internet, and I told my Dad about this for help as I am just NOT a computer person. He started going on about something called ".dll hell". He said apparently as soon as you start messing with those files you can really screw up your computer. I was informed that if my computer crashes, which it might've, I might have to wipe my computer; loose all my stories and documents .

I wasn't looking forward to that, and after mumbling to myself how great it would be to have my ex-boyfriend still around so he could help me fix my computer, I went searching on the internet for the missing file. I found it, downloaded it, found out where to place it and after restarting the computer I fixed it in about 5 minutes.

I informed my Dad about my achievement and he just looked at me in disbelief. He told me I was lucky, and he wasn't joking. He said I was lucky that I fluked it off before my computer crashed and to never do it again (though I'm not even sure what I did the night before). All I could think was either, he was a huge over exagurator (and so were his friends once I told him the story afterward) or I just had luck leaking out of my ears .

Whatever the reason, makes me feel a little smug about the whole thing I fixed my computer! Me! A 15 year old who doesn't know jack **** 'bout computers at all!

Good for you! I've never been able to recover from that error without reformatting my computer. You were very lucky!

Lucky....rather mild way to put it! My brother is a whiz with computers, but he's smug; I don't like giving him the satisfaction!

Haha! My Dad is pretty good with computers as is our roommate. My Dad has friend who is very good. He does all our reformatting and deals with our hardware and software problems too. My ex was into software and html, making flash games and the such.

Ultimately I'm surrounded by computer whizs and have always been since I was born. Surprisingly enough none of it EVER sunk in. Thinking about it all makes my brain hurt which just about everyone knows so it's so shocking I pulled it off ! My ex was a big smug bragger and sometimes if he felt mean he'd make me feel less than in intelligence cause I couldn't wrap my mind around it.

I think luck is making up for that
