I was very surprised at how pleasant it was. I just came home from spending time with my family and as you guys know how stressed out I get when I have to spend time with my family. Well for some reason this time it was different. Maybe because there was so much chaos going on from other things they didn't have time to pay attention to me.

First our family learned don't put a hot pyrex dish on a cold counter..it explodes. We didn't get to have gravy this year because it had glass shards in it. My Uncle had to pick the marshmallows off the sweet potatoes and then carefully scrape the top layer off and then put a new layer of marshmallows on top. Then my poor nephew went to the bathroom and the toilet over flowed. My Aunt said no biggie she was wanting to get new toilets anyway and the toilet in the other bathroom wouldn't quit running no matter what we did. Parker my cousin's little boy went around hitting people with my Aunt's mother-in-law's cane and we got a big chuckle out of that. Finally we tried to hide the cane but Parker found it anyway and went around carrying it. The cane was bigger than Parker. Or P as we call him. Then my other cousin showed up unexpectedly and we had to scramble for chairs for her and her family. So as you can see it was an interesting Thanksgiving.

I ended up getting sick though because I ate the broccoli cheesy rice casserole and it had cream of chicken soup in it and cream of chicken soup has gluten in it so I am not feeling the greatest right now so think I am going to go take some meds and lay on the couch and relax.

I am just happy that after all the chaos we were all still able to laugh.

Jan

Well Jan, it sounds like a typical family thanksgiving to me! Chaos doesn't stop just for the holiday no? LOL

I'm glad you enjoyed your dinner and time with your family. Laughing is the absolute best, especially when there are things going on that could turn it the other way. Sorry about not feeling well after eating the casserole. I hope the meds work quickly for you and you are back up to snuff right quick!

I have lost 234lbs. I will see how much that has changed next Thursday. I weigh once a week when I see my therapist and this week I didn't see her due to the Thanksgiving holiday but had gone to see my GP and weighed there so that is according to his scale. His scale is pretty close to my scale so I thinking that is the total for now. If I can stay out of the cheesecake it should be all good LOL. I am trying to give away as much of the cheesecake as I can.

That is so great that you had a nice time! I too find spending any amount of time around my father and brother to be very stressful. Maybe you are getting older and wiser or are developing better coping skills. Either way it is a good sign

Grandma didn't understand why I left early because I got sick. She said I left because I wanted to come home and see Tyger. I just said no I was sick and needed to leave. I talked to her the next day and told her I was feeling better and now she knows I need to be gluten free. My "aunt" she is my Aunt's sister in law so she is kind of like my aunt felt bad that I got sick because it was something she made that I got sick from. I told her not to worry about that as I was eating it I was wondering if I should be eating it because I couldn't remember if it had a cream based soup in it. She said that her husband is trying to be gluten free but isn't totally there yet. I told her which brand of soup is gluten free if he ever does decide to totally go gluten free. I am glad though I didn't get the pineapple thing as it had 2 things gluten in it. My family makes a warm pineapple casserole. If you read the recipe it sounds gross but it is really good so mom and I are going to try to figure out a way to make it gluten free.
