If you won the lottery what is the first frivolous thing you would buy?
Nothing practical but something you would only buy for fun, none of this stuff about ending world hunger and all. Just for fun... Me? I want a pool for me and another for my horse. __________________ The purpose of life is not to be happy. For me: Chocolate and clothes and champagne to enjoy while chilllaxing on a boat out at sea. Enjoying the weather and floating around from port to harbor to port to harbor all over the world. "Hiya New York! Wassup UK! Hey Japan! Ooo Jamaica...." Speaking of Jamaica, i would also by myself a house for my mom there. By the sea shore...she could just chill on the porch and i could pass by once in a while and wave "hi mom!" She could enjoy some of my souvenirs from my travels around the world, as well as the random sightings of my pretty purple boat with flutterly lavender sails floating by once in a while with "The Royal Water Butterfly" engraved on the side... (now i am really going to bed. 'nite all...) |

I like the fancy, wood framed greenhouse (and the services of someone to maintain it!)
I would have a wonderful minature house built as a weaving and knitting and spinning studio for Moi! Like a little fairy tale cottage with working chimneys and a little kitchen and leaded glass windows and curvy stone walls, just like in a picture book! How's THAT for frivolous!? |

Fairy tale cottage sounds mighty coooooool ...
Since I've won the lottery and being frivolous is the idea, then for my other side being frivolous would be lots and lots of red grapes I'd buy a grape orchard and make wine and grape jelly.. and I'd build a farmhouse, turn it into a bed and breakfast and serve wine and grape jelly all day... |

I'd have a tiny apartment in London and New York and and travel first class everywhere I've always wanted to go. That's after buying my little beach house as a home base.

I would go to Hawaii -always wanted to go there. I would build a smaller house(pay in cash/no mortgage) than the one I live in - yes smaller because larger houses are too much work. I would make all the floors heated - such a luxury. I would have an indoor pool. I would buy a luxury RV and travel across Canada and the U.S.

Oooh! Well, I'd buy a house on the beach in California........
And a big plot of ranch land................ Build a big house on it......... And turn part of the land into an animal sanctuary and fill it with lots of animals and hire lots of people to help me run it!!! __________________ Peace is every step ~ Thich Nhat Hanh Last edited by sundog; Nov 10, 2010 at 04:02 PM.. |

I would set my older two sons up in a business, and buy my mum a house next door to her church with a big dining room so she can cook for her friends on a Sunday lunch.
I would buy the house I am living in at the moment and turn it back into a real farm. I would start a few charities for underprivalidged children and children who have a terminal illness and their families. I would show my money off the the rest of my family and not give them a penny lmao ... As they do to me all the time. |

I would pay off my kids houses and probably set up a foundation that would find worthy people and causes to help.

I'd buy a really nice cottage on the waterfront up north for the Spring, summer, fall, and a condo in Florida for the winter.
Then I'd buy more harps. I'd like a double strung, a wire strung, and a Paraguan harp, and I'd practice like crazy so that I could get good enough to volunteer to play in places like hospices and old folks homes. Oh and I'd buy a really nice pair of diamond earings just because. --splitimage |

I would definitely put up fencing & build a nice barn so I could get my horses here to live with me.....then work on the woods area to put up an arena to work in during the winter......or if enough money would by an actual farm that has all the horse facilities already there......rescue horses & other animals that need care.
Give to the many charities that really help people in our own country first.......give back to help as many have helped me. Set up a way of helping my daughter financially.....unfortunately, she got her irresponsible handling of money from us.......so I don't want to enable that any more than it already has been......so would have to work out some kind of system where budgeting was still required. Would also move some of my furniture that I would love to have from California & get some furniture for the rest of my house......3 years without furniture......isn't the most comfortable living conditions.....but better than the war environment I was living in anyday. Sure there would be many other places to give my money to in order to help out those who are struggling because of the economy right now.....struggling to pay heating bills in the winter & cooling bills in the summer......there is so much help that is needed.....would __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck.
