i started taking Karate this past Saturday, it was a very tough workout, but I really enjoyed it and will be coming back on Wednesday

The instructor was always very positive and encouraging and I am in a small class ( just 3 other adult students) so that works perfectly for my AvPD
Thanks for this!

Glad to hear about the Karate. The males in my family were into Tae Kwon Do, and they really liked it.

Ah, tried Karate myself, and it's a good way to relieve stress, if you have the time for it.
I, myself had to quit though.Too much to do, and not enough time for it all.I only got to a single competition before quitting.

Very good. I took Tang Soo Do in college after a girl was assaulted between the dorms...college offered the course. I only earned a purple belt, but what I learned has clicked in at times I've needed it for defense.

Even if you don't excel in the mode (I think you will) it's great for self confidence and self discipline.

True, also takes your mind off things which is important at times.Expecialy if you're going through a bad period of time, for how ever long it may last.

I admire you for taking on something new! That can be really hard to do. I'm glad that you enjoy it and got such good feelings about it with your very first class! Have fun tonight

So how is it going? I took tae kwon do for 3 years and wow!!! what a workout that is. You will be so much better mentally and physically with the discipline of the program.

I do another martial art and it's such an enrichment to my life. I am working on taking fewer breaks--as much as I love it, it scares me to death sometimes due to my history. But it makes me feels safer and more powerful in my own skin.

Good for you for trying something new! I hope you keep at it.
