Had a meeting with my new boss today to find out which departments I'll be responsible for, beyond assisting him with his. I got professional services which is an interesting mix and includes Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Chapliancy, Patient Services - basically everything that's not specifically clinical. Then he decided to give me some medical departments to look after as well. They are Psychiatry, telepsychiatry, addictions medicine, and adolescent psychiatry.
Apparently since I had listed all my mental health volunteer experience on my resume, he assumed I was interested in addictions & mental health (DUH) and that I must know something about the subject. (Just doesn't know quite how much I know.) I have to admit, I'm kind of amused. --splitimage |

I also think it sounds interesting. What exactly do you do in your new job?
