I just changed my Forum Skin from Tulip to Spring, and I love it!
It is such a refreshing change to have a totally new look and feel to the site.....I think I am going to start changing it on a regular basis.

Does anyone else ever change skins? How often? What is your favorite?
Thanks for this!

Actually I rarely do that. I am on several vbulletin forums and the house colours serve as a good reminder to me to give me the right feel for wherever I am at that moment.

Oh yeah, I get what you're saying and it makes sense.

I'm only on one other forum and it doesn't have the option of changing skins.

Thanks for making this thread, because I had no idea there were different skins! I quickly changed from the default to spring, and I love it. Thanks again!

Hey Melissa - yeah, isn't it nice? It was one of those little things that made me happy today.

Skully - I am often surprised by little things around here that I never even knew about. I learn new things all the time.

Cool! Thanks for the heads up, darkrunner! I only knew about the blog skins. I didn't realize there were different forum skins available also! It's nice to be able to have the option to change it up a bit!

PS: Even more exciting is the "mobile" option!!! That is very cool!!!
Thanks for this!

In the almost 7 years that I have been coming here, I have only ever used the default skin. I just can't get used to the others.

You click on "My Profile" at the top of the screen and then select "Edit Display" from the drop down menu. That takes you to a new page. Towards the bottom of that page you'll see an option that says "Forum Skin". And you can select from 5 or 6 different versions. Having tried them all out, I've actually ended up going back to the default one!!! But if I'm in a particularly pink mood, I will definitely select Tulip one day!!!

I haven't changed the skin yet and I doubt I ever will; I've been using the same theme for my laptop for 4 years and change the wallpaper about once a year.
Thanks for this!

Haha - I didn't know this option existed either!
I've just changed mine to the default one - a bluey one.. Navy Blue

As far as I know the default skin is pale yellow, not blue. You must of changed to one of the other skins.
Thanks for this!

I like the Tulip as well...but it doesn't have something the others have (I forget just what right now... sorry)

I change every so often, maybe twice a year? I rather change my font color each month, so I can try and keep track if a post I made in a long thread is a more recent or older post.

BTW the forum default is a grey background, with pale blue accentwindow lines, a white text box background and darker blue task bars.

I have changed before and changed back to default which is pale yellow with blue and has been like this ever since the first day I logged in some 7 years ago. There must be some confusion as to what the default skin is.

I'm sure mine was called 'Default" - but it's definitely not yellow, lol

I can never keep anything constant, I'm always changing appearances so yes. Im always here messing around with this one.
I'll be honest though. I don't really like a lot of the options. I keep it on the tulip one a lot. Its the easiest to see.
I wish the black were darker. Its easier on my eyes at night.
Thanks for this!

Not a big deal There is "forum default"; Psych Central; and "default style" listed (as well as the Tulip, teal/black and another one or two I think.

I described the "forum default."

That's a little confusing that 2 of them have 'default' in the name.

I was wondering about the 'mobile' option. I haven't had a chance to play around with that yet. Is the only purpose to make browsing easier on your phone? Because my phone automatically uses the Mobile version, even though I don't have that selected in my settings. I actually tried to change it but couldn't figure out how.

Oh yeah, I remember hearing something about that, but I can't remember what it is, either. I guess we don't miss it too much, whatever it is!

LOL, when I read the title of the thread, I thought, yes, a zipper that starts just under my neck & instead of taking a shower, I just unzip & change into one of my other skins that I have hanging in the closet.....

Ok seriously, I found the skins when we first got onto this new forum platform just about 3 years ago. Found "Tulip" after sampling all the others & have stuck with it every since. What I love is being able to set up our profile colors & designing that to be our own comfort colors also.....that was really fun coordinating all the colors
