I am very tired of snow. I thought moving to Arkansas I wouldn't see snow like I have this winter. Today there is enough snow to shut down highway 540 from Alma to Bentonville which is about 90 miles. Maybe not that much I have never paid attention to how long it takes to get from here to there. But they said on the news that there are a ton of cars off in the ditch along with 18 wheelers. It reminds me of Nebraska. Don't get me wrong I liked living in Nebraska but I hated the winters. I need to take some stuff to the dumpster but it will have to wait til another day there is no way I am going out there today.

I am glad though I was able to get in and see my T yesterday as I am sure they will be closed tomorrow again.

I am waiting with baited breath for spring.

Jan

I'm actually really loving the snow here in KY. We don't get a lot, but this year, we kept getting about 3 inches of snow every week during the winter. That white stuff covering everything is really beautiful. It's not like it's so deep that it's covering my doorway & have to tunnel out like in the northern states. It's just enough to stick on the ground for 4-5 days & look pretty, then it melts so it can snow a little bit more. I have been fascinated about how much more snow they have received south of me. It has been an interesting winter, that's for sure.

Spring is right around the corner.....the groundhog didn't see his shadow.....so spring is going to be here soon....not to worry.... & then before we know it, we can complain about how hot the summer is.

I'm tired of winter too. I'm just supremely happy that I decided to get snow tires on my car this year for the first time ever. Makes a big difference.

But at work I have to walk a lot between my building and the actual hospital for meetings, and the path I take hasn't been cleared or salted so it's totally ice. I have to be really carefull that I don't slip and fall.

I'm in CT. I hover back and forth between loving and hating it. I love coloring the icecles with food coloring (they only last a day or so) but going out in the cold is harsh, and I miss my pink scooter that I tool around on when it's warm. Riding the back country roads is really theraputic, and the pink scooter is very "Barbie" and really consoles me for some of my lost childhood. In the winter I tend to isolate to the point that I become afraid of leaving my home.

I absolutely love that idea of coloring the icicles! How great and to break up all the white when looking out the windows. I do love how the light reflects through them. Thanks for that Cautious Hope.

I have been making sculptures in the yard too, either drawings with my feet or actually moldings like you would a snowman to break up the monotomy. Turns out the kids in the neighborhood look forward to what I'm doing next as they have to go my house to the bus stop. It is feeling bleak and getting to me. However, it is nice that the days are getting a little longer now, not dark at 4:00 anymore, have light until 5:00 which is nice, and growing.

A storm is headed this way for Sunday so enjoying the break right now and sunny skies.

I like the winter but my shoulders hurt and I have had to turn up the heat in the house. The electric bills are no joking matter, either. Ready for some Spring, I think!

Normally, I revel in winter weather, as I've loved snow since I was little, and also because I've spent quite a few recent winters in a place where there's a dusting of snow every twenty years or so, and that's it. But this year, I'm ready to see the season end, as I'm geographically back where winter has been a beast this year. I am still not sure if it's just the sheer volume of snow that's made me weary, the fact that it's still around and all gross and dirty, or my emotional state. Probably all three.

Take off winter, I've had enough of ya.

I have to all that I am very mixed on this snow thing. I hate the way it traps me in the house because wheelchairs and snow don't mix - LOL! It also has screwed up me seeing some of my doctors because my transportation got canceled due to the weather - UGH! So in a way I am most ready for spring!
