After a little over a month of Karate lessons, I have been promoted to Gold Belt, this is the first step up for new students.

The ceremony is this Friday.

I am very exited about my progress

I really enjoy my classmates as well, all of them have been very kind and supportive. For someone with AvPD this has been a blessing.

Thanks for this!

congrats! Yes, indeed that is a good accomplishment! I didn't do karate, so I wasn't sure what the color level was. Gold...for the rising sun perhaps???

Gold?! Are you sure it's not yellow? But of course it may be different in your school. Congratulations anyway and good luck in your karate journey. I started mine a little less than 4 years ago. I'm getting my brown belt in a few weeks

Good for you Tim. Yes Warrioress, it's probably a 'yellow belt'...the next step up from a white beginner. My daughters a 13 yr old black belt.

Congratulations, Tim! My guys in my family took Tae Kwon Do, so I know these martial arts aren't easy. I always joke about having a "white belt" in TKD. I made it through one lesson!

Congratulations! I'm basically a brown belt (my school has weird belts lol) and can tell you that you'll be a high rank before you know it. Try to stay in martial arts, the physical workouts as well as the kind and supportive community aspect of it is incredible. I can honestly say from my experience and a close friend's experience that a martial arts family can even save your life. Not trying to be depressing, sorry about that

Like a black belt friend of mine says, "A black belt is a white belt that never quit."
So congratulations on your new rank, and good luck as the testing requirements get tougher.
By the way, what type of martial arts is it? I'm in Tang Soo Do, which is similar to Taekwondo. Just curious.
Thanks for this!
