It's a little wierd. I have late classes so all the lamps are on when I get out. Every day I walk past the same lamp post and it always goes out. It doesn't matter what time it is; if it's on it goes out. Other people walk past it and nothing happens...

Today three of the lamp posts I walked past went out, not just that one.

What's funny is I've also had incidences while I was driving down the interstate and certain lights would go out as I drove past... and always the same ones no matter the time...

it's normal...i haven't figuared it out yet i have asked lots of people why this happens its like a reverse sensor light...happens to me all the timne...and most people i know that have walked around at nite.....i think it was rigged up somehow for people up to no good
yer gonna do somethin bad or illegal you walk up to a streetlamp and it will go out so no one can see what your doing.....
but try watching CONSTANTINE and go out for a nite walk or to walk your dog if you have it and have the lamp go out on you!! your butt will be back in the house within minutes

Just a thought and don't mean to burst the mysterious bubble, but where I live the street lights are made to alternately go on and off to save energy or there could be a short in the wiring.

There is a lamp near by in my hometown that does this. According to the dept of transportation, its due to loose wiring in the ground near the pole - whats happening is the vibration from walking by or driving by shakes the wiring, or even from strong wind, turning it on and off. Who knows? I always thought it was good luck to come on and bad to turn off.
