"There are two choices of toilet paper orientation when using a toilet roll holder with a horizontal axle parallel to the wall: the toilet paper may hang over or under the roll."

Either way, the dog would take off with it and run; had many years of it being on the counter until he lost interest. I just prefer it being on the roll now (LOL) and over seems to work fine.

LOL....I prefer it to be over, but it really doesn't matter to me which way as long as there is TP available. How many times I have run out & have forgotten to replace it when I wasn't keeping any in the cabinet under the bathroom sink......YICK!!!!! nothing worse than having to go to the bathroom so bad that you don't take the time to make sure there is TP available.......grrrrr at myself. Living alone, that ends up being a problem since I haven't trained my dogs to fetch TP for me either.

I agree with the others - it has to be over and it looks like the majority agree.....victory for us 'TP Overers'. I have a logical reason - when it rolls under, I imagine it's brushing the back of the possibly, germy roll holder.....not to mention it unrolls toO easily for the over zealous TP grabber. If someone puts it under, I grudgingly turn it around...unless I'm a guest at someones house lol.

Has to be over.
I will grill anyone who tries to change it. I have this thing too about toilet paper. I don't know why, but I'm exceedingly lazy with it. I won't ADD a new roll. I'll simply keep picking it up out of the basket and tearing some off and put it back.... When it would be easier to just put the new roll on the dispenser....

I also just get butthurt if I find its been placed under. I won't just.. Turn it over.
I'll just get really upset and start a revolution.

Its not healthy.
Thanks for this!

Over! My toilet paper comes with an imprint of puppies on it (of all things) and if it is under, the poor puppies are upside down!

Definitely over! Under it can get stuck behind the roll and be hard to get out.

I like it over, but put it under because my kid has a way of pawing at it and it all ends up on the floor in a pile if I put it over. If I put it under, it just spins around and stays on the roller. Practicallity over aesthetics in this case.

Over. Unless I have a kiddo around who likes to batt at it and make a nice TP pile. Then I agree, practicality over aesthetics...under it is (until I teach them to leave it alone)

Absolutely over. Someone said they change it if they are in a public place to over, but not someone's home. It bothers me so much that I HAVE TO CHANGE IT where ever I'm at. I pay for it at my own house though because my cats like to unroll the entire thing. Oh well.
