Sometime last fall - can't remember if it was Nov. or early Dec., my psych hospital put out a call for letters of interest from people interested in volunteering for one of the hospital's committees.

I figured what the heck, I'm a patient there, I volunteer there, I take courses with them, so I have a definite interest. So I revised my resume slightly to include all the on-line courses I've done with them on addictions and mental health and sent it and a letter in. I then promptly forgot all about it.

I just got an e-mail from them today asking me to sit on their "Constituency Committee". They probably want me as a consumer rep. While I'd much rather be invited as an accountant to be on their audit committee, it's still a way to be involved.

I'm actually rather excited about it, and it'll be neat to have a "behind the scenes" perspective.

Even thought it wasn't exactly the seat you wanted, it sounds exciting to be chosen for anything! They had a lot of people from which to choose, I am sure!

Sounds perfect! Getting your foot in the door and a "safe" environment. Good luck, my friend!
