Since I'm a woman I do take care of my eyebrows but I never follow the trends. For example it was fashionable a while back to have thin brows but some don't realize that eventually they might not grow back.
What you can do is consult a professional esthetician and ask if they think your brows need some grooming. You did a thread on facials, so you could ask during a facial. You just don't want to shape them too much because it doesn't look good on men. I don't recommend shaping them yourself. If you have a good friend, you could ask them for some pointers and advice of how you're perceived at 1st glance - for example if you look tense and nervous that wouldn't be good. I know you like those special shoes - do you think this is getting in the way of a good 1st impression...IDK..trying to help you out. __________________ This is our little cutie Bella *Practice on-line safety. *Cheaters - collecting jar of hearts. *Make your mess, your message. *"Be the change you want to see" (Gandhi) Last edited by lynn P.; Apr 24, 2011 at 11:39 PM.. |

When we smile we look happier also. Our outward looks are the first perception that someone gets of us. If we always look mad, then people think that we are alway mad at something. If we are smiling, people then think that we are happy when they see us.
However, it's important to really get to know someone no matter what the outside looks like because that's really the only way we can really get to know them & what is really in their heart & mind. I never believe in judging someone on what they look like because I really believe that you "can't tell a book by it's cover" & you can't really know a person by how they look. First impressions may tell that something is going on with the person....but it's always important to really get to know someone before determining whether you really want to be close to someone or not....& one can only get to know someone by spending time with them & talking with them. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. Many men go for facials, therapy type massages, manicure/pedicure and facials, so don't worry about that. Most men could also benefit from grooming those stray hairs on the brow area - between the brows, too long hairs ones that are too close to the eyelid. We own a spa so I know alot about this stuff. Good luck with the facial. __________________ This is our little cutie Bella *Practice on-line safety. *Cheaters - collecting jar of hearts. *Make your mess, your message. *"Be the change you want to see" (Gandhi) |

Personally, I don't look at the little things about a person. My grandmother was away nit picking on things about people & she really turned me off on being that way....I look at peoples personalities no matter how they look on 1st appearance. Working around a farm & always being an outdoors kind of person, manicures & pedicures nor facials always felt was a waste of money because I would only mess up what was done within a few hours anyway.....I don't even bother with makeup because I don't like the feel of it on my face....end up feeling smothered even with light blush & eye liner was something I would end up allergic to & my eyes would get all swollen. Think the natural look is so much better personally. __________________ Leo's favorite place was in the passenger seat of my truck. We went everywhere together like this. I'm cursed with my eyebrows, and hair pretty much everywear on my face. I get my eyebrows professionally shapped (Waxed) every 6 weeks when i get my hair cut, and I'm constantly plucking at errant hairs with the tweezers in between. Seriously - I naturally have Boris Yeltsin eyebrows. I've always had think eyebrows, but since I've been on one med it has a side effect of increasing body hair - it's ridiculous. If I didn't shape my eyebrows they'd be 2" wide and a unibrow.
it's a pain, but I can't believe how much better I feel about myself since I started doing them. --splitimage |

Hah.
I'm a fanatic about my eyebrows... It can't be healthy. I will work on those suckers like nobody's business. Hell. I like to keep the most youthful male look I can get. Pretty guy look and all. ;] So I'll thin them out. I think eyebrows are important. |

I think it is a bit different for men and women and men can often get away with having very thick eyebrows, like that guy from the OC. Some women have thick eyebrows and it looks good on them too.
If you want to try it maybe you could do what a friend of mine does, she CUTS the bottom layer of her eyebrow hairs rather than plucks them (a pain thing perhaps?) and that way if you don't like it they will grow back. |
