Well I decided to bite the bullet and do it. I've just signed up for a certificate program in Tax and Audit services. It'll be good to show I'm doing some continuing ed on my resume, and it'll be good for me to have the knowledge in case I want to freelance or consult (I'm an accountant but my designation doesn't really focus on tax or audit). Plus I'll have the time now that I'm almost done rehab, and will be job hunting.
Just wish it wasn't so deathly dull. --splitimage |

Sounds like a good plan and it will help tie you over until you find something. It would be nice if it wasn't so dull. Good skills to have however. Wishing you the best.

I liked tax problems but a lot of them back when I took a course were not in areas where I "cared" and that does make connecting with the information difficult. Things are so complicated nowadays too, Schedule K and all; my poor husband had to deal with 8 of them this year.
I hope the course proves useful to you!

Seems to be a logical complement to what you already have, splitimage.

Split Image,
Good for you! The university I attended was known for its accounting program. They had a separate study program just for taxes -- they are an animal unto themselves. I do not like accounting, and hate taxes. Taxes cause me to take so much time each year, which takes away from my ability to earn money, compiling a bunch of stupid deductions. They are time-consuming to compile, and I don't know until I compile them if I can actually deduct them. Argh! Best wishes ~ EJ ![]() P.S. Anybody studying taxes needs an extra hug. ![]() Quote:
