My hair breaks really easy and all the grays are starting to appear....I at least hoped I would outgrow acne before I started getting gray hair and wrinkles

side note- my son says the "silver" hair is pretty and makes me look wise...so I'll take the wisdom

Mine is long and red and wild. I am not sure it's considered great, but I do like my mane.

it'll do--my "crowning glory" not too much white yet--blending in with the dirty blonde I became as my golden curls grew older.

I find that when I eat eggs and take vitamins-it's shinier and healthier.

I give it a good pull every so often to see if it's hangin in there with my brain.

oh VenusHalley, i'd give anything to have long, red, wild hair!!! guess i'll have to make do with my short, greying, "plain-jane" thin hair. but at least the perms give it body and curl so all and all, not so bad.

I have looked at my hair over the years in pictures (I'm 60) and it is interesting to me how it has changed. When I was 2 I had this long, wild, wavy hair and then when I was 5 it was almost perfectly straight. Then it had a slight wave and then was gorgeous when I was 20 then got strange, etc. What I found interesting was to think about "who" I was during each time period, what was going well/badly and I think I can sometimes see it in what my hair does!

I have thick brown hair - I'm told it's great a lot but it's a lot of work. I have gray and color it every 6 weeks. I get bored with color so have been many including blond, red, black and eggplant....i've fried it with bleach and straightening irons....permed it (back in the eighties) and now I get it straightened with keratin.

haha...

good replies by all! I go to the salon in 2 days. I hope she makes me into a hunk. I got shampoo she said she used on me, but it not working for me? I either using too much, too little not doing it right, or just the wrong stuff. the best stuff is emu shampoo i purchased. Redkin just aint doing it for me..makes me worse.

ps im seeing some gray too! i was thinking of some highlights, but would a man look ok with highlights?? even if its not about hiding the grays (the hairs, not the aliens, had to toss that joke in..lol) just alittle change, but not a major change.

pps I just want to be pampered..

I have always had curly/frizzy sort of auburn color hair. Had it cut short ONCE & ONLY ONCE when I was in grade school (oh, about 45 years ago). Have kept it just below shoulder length from that point on cause I hated the way I looked with short hair.

It started turning gray right after my knee reconstruction when I was in my early 40's....just around my face..

When I just dry my hair naturally or with a defuser....I get actual little ringlets all over my hair....I just haven't gotten used to myself with that look even though others say it looks great. Mostly, I blow it dry straight & clip it up in back of my head.

After dealing with anorexia 5 years ago, my hair was just like horrible straw. I used the Ojon Tawaka shampoo & conditioner on it & it really helped, but that shampoo & conditioner isn't available anymore...they quit making it....it was horribly expensive & really smelled bad......oh well....have been searching for something inexpensive but good....no luck so far. Have been thinking about using the same shampoo & conditioner I use on my horses (Mane & tail)....smells good & it not that expensive....makes them look good...should be good for my hair also.

I like my hair. Someone told me I look just like the giant marionette in a Mayflower commercial that's out right now (although I'm only 5'2" tall, not 20 FEET tall! lol). I looked at the commercial on youtube, and she does have my hair. Long and reddish and thick.

I'm actually glad you asked this question, because I always look at all of my faults, and it was nice to realize "hey, my hair is fine"

hi eskie,
i'll tell you a great shampoo...Tresemme. it's cheap, the bottle is huge, and there are different types for different hair. i didn't know this when i started using it years ago, but my sis told me when she was a manager in a store (Ulta) that sold all kinds of personal care products etc. she said that if somebody couldn't afford the high-end stuff, she would show them the part of the store with the more reasonably priced stuff, and Tresemme was the best of those for shampoo. (in her opinion, and i agree)

Thanks for this!

Love Aveeno shampoo/conditioner. Actually makes my damaged hair soft - not super pricey and easy to find coupons for.

I loved my hair when I was like 10, does that count?

Hi eskie---ever tried the "Aussie three minute miracle Conditioner"?--Purple bottle--not that expensive--I began using it when I lived out in Nevada--my hair was soooooo dry from the dry climate (it was always in NYC before that time--lots' of moisture in the air here)---

It helped me alot..and, as I said--eggs in my diet have always shown up in my hair's health.
Just a suggestion for you---hugs--theo

Of course the stuff you use on the horses might be good too--ya neva know!!!
Thanks for this!
