Hi guys,

Today I did a bit of retail therapy, and got myself one of those aromatherapy oil stick sets. It smells so divine, and has lavender for relaxing. I'm not sure if I was meant to put ALL the sticks into the bottle, but it smells great so what the heck!

Anyway, this got me thinking about my favourite ways of boosting zen levels.

Here are some of my best mood lifters:

* Scented soy candles
* Painting my nails
* Hot bubble baths
* 30 Rock and Modern Family
* The Little Mermaid (don't judge - this is my insomnia movie too!)
* Burlesque
* Brightly coloured socks
* My cats
* The Daily Otter
* WhatsApp emoticon chats
* Silly girl talk with one of my best friends
* Chocolate covered peanuts
* Vanilla chai tea
* Writing
* Putting on some perfume (whether I'm going out or not)
* Yoga (although I haven't been in too long!)
* Peanut butter out of the jar
* Playing outfits on Polyvore
* Winnie the Pooh quotes
* Having a Twitter rant (and getting back lovely replies!)
* Jack Johnson and classical music

What are the best ways that you use to find that tiny ounce of a smile on the darkest days?

Lying on my hammock or sitting on the door step at dusk in winter, when the weather is cold but I have a got water bottle, and listening to the blackbird singing. Or having a bath when its pouring with rain and keeping the bathroom window open to listen to the rain. Going for a walk in the bushland by my house and finding a spot to sit, especially when its raining (by now you will have gathered I do enjoy the rain). Listening to Watermark by Enya (while its raining), or dance abre by tchaicovsky.
Thanks for this!

Aaah, that sounds so peaceful!

I live in the city and don't even have a garden, but I do love being inside under my feather duvet when it's raining.

Another thing that always makes me feel better is having a walk. Where I live, I have the best view of Table Mountain. There is something so comforting about seeing it in all its phases... especially with it has fluffy clouds on top that we call it's 'table cloth'!
